What We Do

MONA is a volunteer run, nonprofit humanitarian organization that provides relief to individuals throughout the rural areas of Guyana.  We target people who are most in need of our services.  These include individuals who are unemployed, underserved and vulnerable.  We help children and families, conduct health care seminars, provide health care supplies and support the education of the nation’s youth through the purchase of uniforms, books and school supplies.  MONA also sponsors family friendly events in the New York area that both serve as fundraisers for our work in Guyana and provide a meaningful link to Guyanese cultures and traditions for American born children of Guyanese nationals and others who have an interest in learning more about Guyana.  MONA membership is open to anyone who believes in our mission and wants to help us make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
